A 51-year-old Memramcook man and father of 11 children was shot dead early Friday morning (26 octobre) in what may be the first hunting accident in the region this fall. Alfred Boudreau, a lumberman, was hunting in the area of the Springhill Road near Havelock, King's county, when the accident occurred. A spokesman for the family said Boudreau was as an avid hunter and had returned to the area Friday after spotting two deer the previous day.

Born at Haute-Aboujagane, he was a son of Ovila and Exelda (Melanson) Boudreau. He was a lumberman and attended the Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Memramcook East.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, the former Léona LeBlanc, four daughters, Mrs, Frank Smith (Alfreda) of Gilmore, Ont., Noëlla of Memramcook East, Denise of Haute-Aboujagane, Marie-Josée Boudreau of Buctouche; seven sons, Euclide and Réginald, both of Haute-Aboujagane, Clarence of Shediac, Denis of Memramcook East, Guy and Normand, both of Robichaud Office and Jean Boudreau of Cap-Pelé; two granddaughters; four sisters, Mrs. Levis LeBlanc (Andréa) and Mrs. Fred Belliveau (Bernadette), both of Haute-Aboujagane, Mrs. Roger Doiron (Marie) of Little Cape, and Mrs. George Petitpas (Doris) of Shediac; seven brothers, Gérald, Laurie, Fernando, all of Haute-Aboujagane, Euclide of Waltham, Mass., Noël and Donald, both of Robichaud Office and Bertrand Boudreau of Bas Cap-Pelé; and by a large number of nieces and nephews and cousins. A sister, Florida, of Little Cape, died three years ago this December.

The body will rest this evening at Dupuis' funeral home Memramcook. Mass will be celebrated from the Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Memramcook East. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery.
